Beer and Board Games and Work and Play

Last night, the last Friday before Christmas 2013, I traveled long and far through freezing rain… just across the street on foot to Ana’s bro-in-law’s for some board game action. The plan was to play Risk and the only version we had was Lord of the Rings with the map of the world replaced by Middle-earth. Awesome, right?

Risk is a 6-player game and we had 5. Perfect. Wrong. Lord of the Rings Risk inexplicably only supports four players so we played Texas Hold ‘Em Poker instead. I started strong, took a big risk and ended up being the first out. It gave me a chance to mess around on Twitter, drink even more, etc.

We have a winner!

When I walked back home, an epic journey that took roughly 20 seconds, I was tired and hungry. I made an egg sandwich. It was so good! I drank lots of water too because you need to when you drink and I don’t drink often.

My bro said earlier in the day he was going to be online playing a new game DayZ late and it was past 2AM at this point so figuring he was asleep, I went online to play MechWarrior and there was Tom – who just got into the game last week and also said he’d be on late earlier in the day – and a buddy of his. So while still a little mech I played DrunkWarrior then at 4am I decided to write an article for Screen Rant. How many jobs let you do that, right? And the article was written pretty well if I might say so myself.
