Spent this rainy and windy Halloween indoors with Ana and her sister and brother-in-law and we watched Ghosbusters since neither of the ladies had ever seen it before and I’ve not watched it in many years.
In fact, I didn’t remember much from the first 30 minutes at all. Maybe my mind erased it because it was pretty horrible up until that point, but then it gets awesomely cool. Even for a film that’s shockingly 29 years old, the type of comedy and banter between the four leads is very contemporary and that helps the film hold up despite incredibly dated visual effects.
If they remake Ghostbusters, Edgar Wright needs to direct and Simon Pegg needs to be Peter Venkman. Pegg and that younger Bill Murray are one and the same.
